Crete is a wild and beautiful mountainous island, and what better way to see its splendor than joining us on our jeep safari, for a fun filled day you will never forget.
As soon as you are picked up from your hotel or a meeting point, your off road adventure starts, we will take you off the beaten track, up into the cretan mountains, very famous for their aromatic plants and herbs, and along the old trails.
Past historical archaeological monuments, taking you off road where no ordinary vehicles can travel, and giving you a taste of the traditions of Crete, its culture and its people. You will also see a variety of animals, and beautiful plants, which most visitors to Crete never see.
The combination of the old trails and off road paths will guide you over the mountain of Thripti (1470m.) with fantastic panoramic view of both Libyan and Aegean Sea.
The safari has many stops throughout the day and there are very good photographic opportunities, so do not forget your camera.
In Mochlos, you will enjoy the Cretan Cuisine in a traditional tavern.
After launch, our trip continues through the vine yards and olive fields, among little chappels, towards authentic cretan villages with their simple lifestyle.
To end this adventures day, refresh yourselves in the crystal clear water at the bay of Tholos.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - Leave by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive on and visit the Theatre of Epidauros famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the Town of Nauplion (short stop) drive on to Mycenae and visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Then depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnesus and the Towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games. (Dinner)
Day 2 - In the morning visit the Archaeological Site with the sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Then drive on through the plains of Iliad and Achaia until the magnificent bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque Towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea, arrive in Delphi. Overnight. (Dinner)
Day 3 - In the morning visit the archaeological Site and the Museum of Delphi. Depart for Kalambaka, a small Town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora, gigantic rocks. Overnight. (Dinner)
Day 4 - Visit Meteora, among striking scenery, perched on the top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air, stand ageless Monasteries, where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. Depart from Kalambaka, drive through the plain of Thessaly and the valley of Tempi, arrive and visit the Archaeological Park of Dion. Admire also the gigantic figure of Mount Olympos, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the 12 Gods of Mythology. After the visit depart for Thessaloniki, the second largest and the most vibrant city in Greece. Dinner and overnight.
